Artist Statement:
"In this piece, I focus on the solitary silhouette of a tree at Chambers Bay, standing strong against the early light of sunrise. The tree, dark and unwavering, embodies resilience and strength—rooted deeply in the earth yet reaching upward toward the sky. Trees, to me, symbolize endurance, stability, and growth, and in this work, I wanted to capture how even in solitude, they project a quiet but powerful presence. The soft colors of the sunrise behind the tree—gentle pinks, oranges, and blues—reflect over the Puget Sound, creating a backdrop of calm and renewal. The rising sun signals the beginning of a new day, and the tree, with its branches extended, seems to greet the light, embracing change while standing firm. This piece serves as a reflection on the human spirit, suggesting that, like the tree, we can stand tall and weather life's transitions, rooted in our inner strength while embracing new beginnings."
Proceeds from this purchase help fund the costs associated with sending a Card of Hope to a mother of traumatic birth who has requested one.
"We, as a whole, are not talking enough about Traumatic Birth and I am on a mission to change that."
